Sofía (Marta Etura) es una joven española, nadadora profesional, que al morir su madre desarrolla una aguda crisis emocional. A esto se suma la llegada de una reveladora carta, devuelta al remitente, que su madre envió en vida a Chile. El contenido de la misiva despierta profundos interrogantes en Sofía, quien decide embarcarse en un aventurado viaje al sur del mundo.
