在自家院子里的一对夫妻，妻子忙着种花，丈夫躺在网兜里悠闲地听着收音机，花长出来的过程中，两人随手丢下好多垃圾。丈夫准备就地掩埋垃圾时，妻子示意他丢到公用的垃圾桶。各家的垃圾堆积在一起，各国的垃圾又堆积在一起，会是怎样的情形？几乎大半个地球都要被占据。地球人最后能想的办法也只是将它们用力塞进地球肚子里。 那对夫妻在自家院子里又做如前的事，可是妻子再掘土准备种花时，恐慌地发现了可怕的事情，该事情随后引发了更为可怕的事件，令地球人连品尝自己种下的苦果的机会都不再有。
