Architecte d'intérieur fraîchement embauchée en CDI, Charlotte a des projets plein la tête et une vie bien remplie. Entre faire ses preuves au sein de sa nouvelle agence et la restauration du vieux mas provençal que Damien, son compagnon, souhaite transformer en chambre d’hôtes, elle court toute la journée… Alors, quand ses proches la harcèlent sur son désir de maternité, Charlotte, qui ne s’était pour le moment pas posé la question, noie le poisson pour n'offenser personne. Lorsque Émilie, une potentielle cliente qu'elle doit encore séduire, lui confie ses problèmes d’infertilité, Charlotte, sans vraiment réfléchir et pour mettre court à cette question qu'on lui pose inlassablement, laisse entendre qu’elle non plus n’arrive pas à avoir d’enfant.
