Akira and Hiroshi are two lowlives who work at a pachinko parlour. Hiroshi is a ladies' man but always loses at pachinko. Akira is a virgin at 25 but always wins. Hiroshi tries to get Akira laid with little success but things change when Akira is informed of a 88 million yen inheritance. But only if he can get married.

About 1786 the doings of a demented lord results in many masterless samurai, including Iyemon (Kei Sato) who is used to luxury and cannot adjust to the hand-to-mouth conditions & piecework of umbrella making. Having hired ruffians to make him look like a superior swordsman, he arranges for himself the opportunity of a profitable marriage. He hires the half-blind masseur Takuetsu (Sawamura Sounosuke) to seduce or rape his wife (Kyoko Mikage), so that she can be divorced or killed for adultery. But the masseur takes pity & informs Oiwa of her husband's horrid plot. Assisted by the merchant's daughter he intends to marry, Iyemon disfigures his wife attempting to poison her so he can marry higher. There's a lovingly gruesome sequence as she combs blad patches into her hair, kneeling deformed at her mirror, weeping with bitterness. She eventually cuts her own throat, swearing revenge.

A hard working salaryman takes off five days from his busy job and sets off with his wife and two children to visit his parents in his hometown for the 1991 new year holidays. He decides that they will go by car to save on expenses. Unfortunately, the long drive from Tokyo to his hometown becomes a much longer journey than expected due to traffic, sickness and other misfortunes and by the time they arrive three days later, they only have time for a short but happy visit.

藤村は殺人以外のあらゆる犯罪を犯した「世にも不道徳な男」である。結婚詐欺罪で何度目かの刑期を終えて出所した時には、彼に騙されてなお彼を忘れられない女達や、大金を持ち逃げされて仕返しを企むギャング達が待ち構え大混乱になった。ちょうどやって来た列車に飛び乗りその場をやり過ごした藤村は、列車の中で自分と瓜二つの男・相良を見つける。藤村は寝込みを襲って自分と相良の服を交換し、相良に成りすますことに。一方、追ってきていたギャングは藤村と間違えて気絶している相良を拉致していった。藤村はその場しのぎで相良に成りすましただけだったが、相良は文部省の役人で道徳教育界の権威、列車が到着すると市長や学校校長からの歓迎の嵐が待っていた。気をよくした藤村はしばらく相良として生活することを決める。しかし校長の朝吹家に迎え入れられると、教育一家の真っ当な家庭とは表向きだけで、その家族は藤村も驚くほどの不道徳者ばかりだった…。

这是NHK的第15部大河剧。 以从周防的村医成为倒幕司令官，明治新政府兵部大辅，日本近代军制的首创者大村益次郎为中心，松下村塾的吉田松荫和奇兵队的高杉晋为辅，描写维新回天原动力的年轻人们的青春群像剧。

The Americans are swiftly closing on Okinawa, an island just south of the Japanese mainland. The Imperial command sends top generals and several army divisions to defend it at all costs. The mission quickly degenerates as vital resources and troops are diverted to other islands. After a civilian evacuation ends in tragedy most of non-combatants are forced to remain on the island. Many convert to soldier status. Tokyo sends mixed messages that squander time and resources, as when they order the defenders to build an airstrip for aircraft that never come. The truth soon becomes obvious: the high command decides that the island cannot be held and effectively abandons the Okinawan defenders. When the Americans land many troops are deployed in the wrong places. As the slaughter mounts, a suicidal attitude takes hold. Okinawa becomes a death trap, for civilian volunteers and non-combatants as well.

A film about the substantial population of Koreans living in Japan, and the love affair between Kayako, a Japanese girl, and Sanjun, a Korean.

黒木和雄監督が、中島丈博の自伝的脚本を、しっかりした人間描写で演出し、『竜馬暗殺』以上の評価を得た秀作。
憧れの人を演じる竹下景子の初々しさと主人子の荒っぽい幼馴染を演じた原田芳雄の好演が魅力。
昭和30年代初めの土佐。
20歳の楯男は、信用金庫に勤めながら、いつかシナリオ作家になることを夢見ていた。
彼は幼馴染の涼子を秘かに想っていたが彼女には恋人がいた…。
人生の祭りを夢見ながら、故郷に縛り付けられて悶々とする青年の旅立ちを、彼を取り巻く人々の猥雑で人間味豊かなエピソードを交えて描く。
原田芳雄の最後の「バンザイ」は、この映画を象徴する名場面。

浅草・宝蔵院前。元木邦晴少年が風呂敷包みを片手に兄嫁の百代と旅立とうとしている。どこからか少年の耳に「やめた…ほうが…いい」という声が。現代の東京。ひとり暮らしの邦晴は第二次大戦中、特高として名をはせたが、その犠牲者に会っても事の状況すら分からぬ弱々しい老人だった。老人は自分を呼ぶ声に導かれ浅草寺の境内で、今は存在するはずのない凌雲閣を見つける。頂上にいた青年は邦晴の兄・昌康だった。大正時代。邦晴に魚津の蜃気楼を見てみたい、と夢見るように語る兄は、新婚だというのに家にいつかず凌雲閣に通いつめる。残された兄嫁に邦晴は同情と淡い恋心を寄せる。昌康は双眼鏡からチラと見えた覗きからくりの押絵細工の中の娘・お七に心奪われていた。押絵をからくり屋から奪った昌康は、寺の裏手で邦晴少年に双眼鏡を逆さに持って自分を見てくれと頼む。泣きながら断りきれずにその通りに邦晴がすると、昌康の姿は消え、押絵の中に入ってしまっていた。ハッと目覚めた邦晴老人。列車の向かいの座席には若いままの兄の姿。老人ホームに古い友人を訪ねた邦晴老人は職員に、自分が今訪ねたと思っていた友人は先月亡くなったと聞いて、狂気の叫びをあげる。その声に驚いたかのように、汗びっしょりで目覚める邦晴少年。魚津に向かう列車の中、百代が優しく自分を見つめている。宿でひとつの部屋に泊まった2人。邦晴の風呂敷包みの中にはお七と昌康の押絵が。百代は愛情と嫉妬の視線を押絵にそそぎ、苦しさのあまり泣き出す。百代は邦晴少年の唇を自分の唇でふさぎ、崩れていく。翌朝、彼女は置き手紙を残し去っていった。山寺で押絵を住職にたくす邦晴少年は、山道で邦晴老人に出会う。その時、蜃気楼の出現を合図するサイレンの音が鳴った。砂丘では邦晴少年と邦晴老人、そして百代、昌康ら、みながたたずんで、ただ茫然と蜃気楼を見つめていた。
