When police officer Kapil Khanna discovers that his son was abducted at birth, and switched with a girl, he spends the next 20 years trying to track down his missing son, and finally finds him living with his enemy.

Ajay alias Munna Babu is a semi-senile, gentle but naive young man who has a wealthy family estate. His employees and alleged well-wishers conspire against him and introduce him to his long-estranged mother, Shakuntala, and brother, Vijay. Munna is overjoyed, not knowing that they are devious impersonators. This joy is quite short-lived, as they soon show their true colors, and Munna gets killed. His restless spirit seeks out his real brother and appeals to him to avenge his death. Vijay, at first, thinks he is hallucinating, but when his mother confirms that he indeed had a twin brother, he agrees to accompany Munna's spirit back to where he was killed, and thus assist him complete his vengeance. Things do not go as planned, and Vijay himself becomes their victim, and may face the very same fate as Munna.

A group of 7 thieves decides to rob a huge amount of money from a heavily guarded palace. Problem arises when one of them turns Gaddaar (traitor) and runs away with all the looted money. His other 6 accomplices trace him for a year and finally with the help of Raja, a small time crook, come to know that he is hiding in Himachal Pradesh. As the group reaches the traitor's hideout to confront him, circumstances and greed leads to a bloodbath, while the true identity and motive of Raja also gets revealed.

Prem Chopra is complexly portrayed, he plays step-brother of Sameer. Sameer's mother wants him to marry Yogeeta Bali but he has fallen in love with the blind girl. Yogeeta Bali and Sameer's mother persuade Neelu to play blind even when she gets back her eyesight to dissuade Sameer to marry a down trodden village girl. They bring along a false husband of Neelu who carries her off into the clutches of Prem Chopra the illegitimate half brother of Sameer. His love interest betrays him and he gets killed. His girlfriend and her dead husband who is actually alive and playing possum to get insurance money try to kill Neelu as she has witnessed Prem chopra's murder. Everything gets resolved in the final climax based on a novel of the same name. The film has many twists and turns.

Leela and Bholaram are a childless couple. Leela works as a midwife, and one day assists Sunderdas' wife to give birth to twin boys. She decides to keep one baby for herself, and tells Sunderdas that his wife has given birth to one child. There are complications for the mother, and she passes away without seeing her children. Leela and Bholaram bring up Kanhaiya, while Sunderdas attempts to bring up Kishen, but is unable to do a good job. So he marries Kamini, who comes along with her brother, Ghendamal, to live at the estate. She has an illegitimate child named Ramesh from another man, and when Sunderdas comes to know of this, he is threatened and attacked, and as a result of which he is paralyzed, unable to move.
