与会的老教授布斯科是一位谨小慎微的天才，不被当局信任。他把多米瑞接到家里同住，并共同进行研究。娜兹达为多米瑞吸引，卖掉了价值不菲的毛皮大衣，资助多米瑞。她与丈夫的关系急剧恶化，只身到莫斯科与多米瑞同居。项目一度得到部方的支持，给多米瑞安排了一个工作室及几名助手，娜兹达也加入项目，帮助翻译资料。

娜兹达已珠胎暗结。她的丈夫出于一贯的成见，以及夺妻之恨，设计陷害多米瑞。多米瑞被诬陷泄漏国家机密，入狱服刑，研究成果也付之一炬。娜兹达为多米瑞产下一子。她拿着仅存的一本记录了设备设计方案的笔记本，向当时曾表示支持多米瑞的某高官求助。

在高官的安排下，娜兹达带着儿子，与多米瑞隔着监狱的铁窗相望...... db
