A young Georgian man named Lado is involved in smuggling antique furniture from Georgia to Russia. Medea, Lado’s girlfriend, buys herself an apartment in St. Peterburg’s historic center. At the time of the unlawful deportation of thousands of Georgians from Russia, Lado is caught and deported.

They managed to survive the war and, as winners, they are assigned houses that were swiftly abandoned by others. In their new environment filled with old memories and unfamiliar objects they’re about to start a new, contented life. But it soon becomes clear that the hardest battle is yet to be won.
