Four highly skilled fighters unite to take on a ruthless criminal gang, battling corruption, murder, and injustice in the wake of the Korean War.

With the cast list, you would almost expect this to be another Chang Cheh film. Two of Chang's proteges, David Chiang and Chen Kuan-tai go head-to-head in The Imposter which sees cinematographer Pao Hsueh-li back in the director's chair. Chiang plays Ko Liang, as master of disguise who puts his seven faces to good use when he goes to the aid of two young guardsmen Tseng Yung (Danny Lee) and Tseng Kan (Wang Chung) who have been framed by Captain Lo (Chen Kuan-tai) for murder.

Leaving the poverty of his life in Shantung to seek fortune in Shanghai, The Boxer is instead drawn into a world of corruption, gang warfare and evil... Where his only protection is his famed fighting technique.

梁山好汉攻打曾头市时，晁盖不慎被史文恭毒箭射中面颊身亡。为替他报仇，军师吴用和黑旋风李逢潜入大名府，企图说服卢俊义（丹波哲郎）入伙梁山，达到“用卢制史”的目的，但潜心习武的卢俊义一直犹豫不决。不料隔墙有耳，事情被与卢俊义妻子有染的管家李固闻悉，向官府告发后卢俊义被捕，不日将以“私通梁山贼寇”罪名被斩首示众。
卢俊义的心腹浪子燕青（姜大卫）前往梁山求救，宋江得信后立刻调派林冲（岳华）、武松（狄龙）等人去劫法场，一场梁山好汉与官府的大战就此展开。

本部戏单论剧情而言相当的平凡……甚至是平庸：一对新婚夫妇在巴士上遭遇抢劫，丈夫藏钱被杀后歹徒逃离不知所踪，妻子伤心至极，后来却被人骗取钱财，再受闷棍之下，又被「好心人」带至家中想要做他的姘头。

沈昌(王鍾)生性內向、憂鬱，與父親缺乏溝通，不料被人利用而誤入歧途。最後逃不過暴力的魔爪與色慾的引誘，竟出賣父親，讓父親慘遭打死。沈昌背悔交加，獨家闖入賊\巢，將他們逐一擊斃，最後自己也陷入瘋狂狀態…

本片為賣座電影系列《香港奇案》的第三集，分兩個故事，各有不同的幕前及幕後班底。第一個故事「老爺車縱火案」，由于榮及顧冠忠主演，描述無牌色情場所起火，釀成傷亡慘劇，警方疑是縱火案；第二個故事「法網難逃」，由凌雲及王鍾主演，描述一位探長被歹徒殺害，警方懸紅五萬元緝兇……

武功高强的鹰王（狄龙 饰）于偶然之中遇见了身负重伤命不久矣的天一堂六舵主（游龙 饰），得知了大舵主洪擎天（张佩山 饰）杀死了堂主，企图谋权篡位。于是，鹰王被卷入了门派争斗的漩涡之中，遭到了洪勤天和颜冰儿（李菁分 饰）的追杀。
颜玉莲（李菁分 饰）是天一堂的七舵主，她在无意之间救了身陷险境的鹰王一命，两人就此相识。颜玉莲的侠肝义胆吸引了鹰王的注意，随着时间的推移，两人之间的距离越来越近。鹰王将颜玉莲的妹妹颜冰儿的所作所为如实相告，但颜玉莲却并不相信鹰王所言，直到她被颜冰儿重伤垂死之际，依然祝福鹰王不要伤害妹妹。

本片为邵氏继《马永贞》后，再次以上海滩黑帮争霸仇杀为题材的电影。陈观泰饰的仇连环当年在上海滩，以拳头打出天下，乃好勇斗狠的典型人物，血腥事件轰动社会；仇为了井莉饰的交际花沉菊芳，不惜豁出性命，与着名帮会首脑之子及同谋展开连场明争暗斗；仇亦成为帮会争夺地盘的嫁祸目标……

Based on a popular swordplay novel, this colorful and complex saga (whose Chinese title literally translates into the poetic Meteor, Butterfly, Sword) has enough conspiracies, stratagems, and sword fights to fascinate even novice kung-fu cinema viewers. The cast of Shaw Brothers' leading swordsmen and swordswomen are masterfully staged by Yuen Cheung-yan, the brother of Matrix and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon martial arts choreographer Yuen Woo-ping. The result is both a great action movie and an exceptional dramatic film.

Lei Li lost his right-arm in a sword duel with the master of a martial arts school, long ago. Now, he is able to defend himself well with just his left arm, and kung fu techniques. That he proves with just the help of his friend Chung-Chieng, when he crosses his path with a beautiful girl in need, Pao Chiao. Even against impossible odds, he will prove a great warrior.
