Subaru is investigating the death of of a enemy, Kaneyama but before he died, he undertook a project, which was how to teach seven teenage girls how to use black magic to get revenge on people they don't like, but when one of the girls feels remorse, she is told by the other girls to continue with the black magic. Subaru tries to stop them but the girls think that he is their enemy and put a curse on him.

Premiered in Sapporo Short Fest 2009. The destiny of Tomoe Shiro, a formidable racer with a very promising career, experiments an U-turn when a serious accident puts his life at stake. He recovers miraculously, though, when his heart is replaced with the engine of his own racing car. However, because of that very reason, race regulations demote him to the category of a mere mechanical part of the vehicle and is deprived from the right to participate as a pilot in regular races. Only in a far away colonial planet, along with a multitude of other charismatic pilots also vetoed from participating in regular competitions, he will be given the opportunity to race for his pride and the money of the prize. And so this exciting rally starts!!

以美女神官梅莉莎和盗贼米蕾儿和女战士吉妮组成的冒险队伍在野外的废墟中寻找遗迹及宝藏，但是苦于队伍中缺少魔法师而有诸多不便，于是她们到魔法学院所在的欧帆城寻找能够一起冒险的魔法师伙伴，然而，能够并且愿意随行的只有被米蕾儿称为变态和与吉妮在大街上抢着打架的——龙威。这种魔法师根本无法让人信服，于是她们就拒绝了龙威。正当梅莉莎向迈依利神寻求启示的时候，施错魔法的龙威掉到了她的面前成为神所赐予她的勇者。不得不接受神的旨意的梅莉莎一行，只能带着他上路冒险，并不断寻找能给他提升声望的机会以便于有朝一日能够正大光明地宣布龙威是她值得骄傲的勇者！
故事就此展开，但是基本上还是以城市为中心小规模的冒险，直到最后几集，王国的叛乱被龙威无意中瓦解后，立了功却无端担心国王处罚的一行人终于踏上了真正的冒险之路。
作为罗德岛的作者而成为无人不知的水野良，在这部作品中能很明显的看出其背景设定等方面与罗德岛的相似之处，然而，他完全颠覆了在罗德岛中作为勇者和作为魔法师的设定（当然，比起魔法提琴手的BT来还是望尘莫及）该作中的魔法师一反以往乃至正统小说如《龙枪》中魔法师身体虚弱的形象，满身肌肉的龙威毫无身为魔法师在队伍中的自觉，反而在施法时不是施到一半忘了下文去翻书，就是背错了魔法总是把爆破魔法当作其他魔法而炸的自己人到处逃窜，最经常的就是条件反射般用拳头和剑作为第一武器留下其他人在后方作援助，甚至出现了第一回冒险就把魔杖当武器砸向敌人以至于失去了施法道具而在其后的好几回中不能施展法术，总之如果不是动画的题目不是《魔法战士》的话几乎就让人忘记了他的本职是法师。其他人物的搞笑配合在动画中也层出不穷，龙威的古板而又想扬名的魔法学院的导师、梅莉莎的光有漂亮外表只依靠魔剑才能战斗经常被打的只剩内裤裸奔的未婚夫、米蕾儿装钱的罐子和省钱买下的闹鬼的房子等等等等，即使在决战关头也不缺乏幽默的片段。

Constantly outperformed by the girls' club, the boys' soft tennis club faces disbandment due to their poor skills and lack of positive results. In desperate need of capable players, Toma Shinjou is looking to recruit, but he fails to do so. Enter Maki Katsuragi, a transfer student who demonstrates great reflexes when he catches a stray cat, Instantly capturing Toma's attention. Toma ambitiously asks Maki to join the team but is quickly rejected, as Maki doesn't wish to join any clubs. Toma refuses to back down and ends up persuading Maki - only under the condition that Toma will pay him for his club expenses.

As Maki joins the team, he immediately outshine the rest of the team. This gives rise to conflict among the team, Maki challenges his fellow team members to devote themselves to the game they once neglected.

This story focuses on the boys' soft tennis club and their discovery of their own capability, while also enduring the darker side of growing up in middle school.

作为TYPE-MOON10周年纪念企划，部分改编自漫画《TAKE MOON》，正式名称是《幻想嘉年华》，和《TAKE MOON》一样是乱入型作品，动画化形式为OVA动画。

《TAKE MOON》为《神薙》原作者武梨绘里所作，是一部融合多名TYPE-MOON旗下游戏角色的同人作品集，其中包括《月姬》、《MELTY BLOOD》、《Fate/stay night》等经典之作。漫画以恶搞剧情为主，单行本发售至第三卷。

本作的动画制作方是Lerche，担任监督的是岸诚二，负责系列构成和剧本的是上江洲诚，角色设定由森田和明和广濑智仁担任，前者还是总作画监督。声优方面，本作基本沿用游戏原作或单作动画的阵容。

第一季于2011年8月12日发售，第二季于2011年10月28日发售，第三季于2011年12月31日发售，另有一话EX Season作为OAD同捆漫画《TAKE MOON》第三卷发售，一话Special Season收录于2013年初发售的《TYPE-MOON Fes.》
