A Serbian hero Mićo Ljubibratić from Herzegovina raises an uprising in eastern Herzegovina against Ottoman and he makes it clear to the Western powers, especially the Austrians, that the annexation of Herzegovina to Austria is out of the question if the newly formed Herzegovinian Assembly does not make such a decision on its own.

On a little girl's birthday, her parents' friends come. The received gifts are piled up in her room and most of them are the same. The guests forget the little celebrant and close in the lounge. The dance begins, and the elders play cards. The little one is left alone. Neighbors are disturbed by the noise and ask the caretaker to intervene. He goes to the apartment where he is celebrating. The girl opens the door for him. He invites the good old caretaker to his room to show him the toys. Wanting to beautify her birthday, the caretaker tries to cheer up the little one. With the help of her toys she enters the world of fairy tales. The dolls come to life and the girl happily participates in their game. Time passes, it is already late at night and the girl falls asleep. The caretaker leaves quietly, leaving her in the interior of her room full of toys.

In late 1943 German forces are advancing towards Dalmatian coast, forcing many people to flee to Allied or Partizan controled areas. Group of children get stranded on a deserted island after their ship's engines broke down. However, the real adventure of their is only to begin.

A day before the earthquake in Skopje, Wily Muller, a German conductor, while passing through the concert meets a young girl Jana, a student from Skopje. After several years they meet again at the "Solidarity Meetings" event, which is held in Skopje, where Wily Muller is a conductor at a concert held on that occasion. Those several days, spent together with the conductor, for Jana mean fulfillment with a kind of reminiscence of her family tragedy experienced during Skopje's earthquake, and also a wondering and search for a way of starting life again, which stopped on the day of the earthquake. Although the possibility of going with Muller is very attractive, Jana stays in Skopje. Her place is beside the young man whom she loves and belongs to, with whom she is related with true love...
