Rising from a stage are two vases which separate to reveal a female dancer behind each of the vases. They create magical circles of flowers from which other women emerge. The dancers construct an elegant floral display, in the middle of which a miniature dancer performs. Another circle of flowers is brought forward on the stage, toward the camera, and in the circle are shown a series of women. The original pair of dancers conclude by twirling their parasols.

Female magicians turn people into origami roosters and vice versa.

“Music Forward!” is the order given by a lady in Colonial costume, and in march a group of five musicians, working industriously at their instruments. The directress stands them in a row, and taking the head off each, throws it onto a huge music staff and each becomes a note of the scale. The whole bodies appear again, after which the manipulator seems to wrap them up in a large sheet of music, which is then shown to contain nothing. The paper is rolled up again, and a cane is held, perpendicularly, in a horizontal position to the sheet.

A young woman passing through a cemetery at night is suddenly startled by a voice coming from one of the graves. She wishes to rush away, but the ghost appearing compels her to remain. He explains to the terrified girl that she must go to the kingdom of Satan and get a bottle of the Water of Life, which she must bring back to him. The girl consents to do as he desires and starts forth on her expedition after the precious fluid. She summons a lot of soldiers and friends to her aid, and we follow the whole army down into the bowels of the earth. Arriving at the gate of Satan's kingdom, they mount a chariot of fire and, arriving at the devil's palace, give fight to the demons mounting guard over their king, and after having defeated them rush into the palace. Now Satan, seeing his life in peril, disappears in a cloud of smoke, and thunder, and is seen again as he dashes through his vast domains gathering together his people, and while they await the conquering chariot another fight ensues. The devil is beaten again and the bottle of life is stolen by the leader of the victorious army, and they are all about to depart when a terrible explosion takes place and the chariot and its occupants are dashed to the ground. All are killed: but the brave woman who undertook the expedition, and she goes forth alone, meeting on her way dragons and vampires, who try to stop her progress towards earth. She defeats them all, however, and arriving at the ghost's grave raps on the marble slab, the ghost appears, drinks the water and is immediately transformed into a beautiful prince. The last scene of this interesting film shows the happy marriage of the once-deceased man and the beautiful and courageous bride.

The first scene presents before the astonished eyes of the spectators a solid piece of marble, which the minute it is placed on a table seems to take life, and one can follow a snake-like line branding on the polished face of the stone the name of the house of Pathé Frères. As soon as this stone has been engraved, as by magic, a handsome young lady appears with a huge lump of clay covered with a cloth. As soon as the cloth is removed from the soft mass it starts whirling and turning as if stricken mad, and one is asking one's self what all the contentions are going to lead to, when the vague shape of an animal not yet discernible seems to appear, and before one has time to make one's mind as to the category of brutes to which it belongs one sees the form of a remarkably well made orang-utan modelled out of the clay, who calmly smokes his pipe. Then the statue is removed by the same winning young lady and another covered block of the same substance is carried forward.

At the beginning of this film two women come onstage dressed in Oriental fashion. They present a shadow play theatre.

In front of a portico, a music teacher teaches music theory to a group of young women, including Julienne Mathieu. A piano stands on the right side. A staff is drawn at the top of the portico. The four singers have extendable necks, and their heads, as they elongate, form notes. Beneath the heads, thus detached from their bodies, and against a black background, white cut-out paper figures come to life. Then the heads return to the women's shoulders. From a white ball placed in the middle of the painting, eggs emerge and are placed on the staff. Then stick figures also emerge, forming the stems of the notes. Finally, stick figures come to life. This scene is repeated three times with different animations.

A magical woman and her magical eggs.

A woman falls asleep on a park bench. The Devil appears and summons an imp who takes the woman to his fantastic lair. After a nightmarish episode, the woman awakens only to promptly doze off again. Now a fairy appears who shows the woman a beautiful dreamland.

A frog hops around a magic fountain.

In an outdoor setting, a magician makes pond nymphs and frog people appear out of water and thin air.

Un vieux marchand laisse ses filles bien aimées et part avec son valet pour un voyage d’affaires. Ils se perdent dans la forêt. Ils partent chacun de leur côté pour retrouver leur chemin. Le vieil homme arrive à un magnifique jardin dans lequel il s’assoit et, peu après, attiré par des roses magnifiques, s’apprête à en cueillir quelques-unes. Soudain, une bête affreuse surgit du sol dans un jaillissement de flammes. La Bête réprimande le vieux médusé et le condamne à mort sauf si l’une de ses trois filles accepte de l’épouser. Le vieux marchand lui donne sa parole et la Bête le dirige sur la bonne route. Très vite, le marchand est dans sa famille. Il raconte son aventure à ses filles. La plus belle des trois accepte de se sacrifier. Mais lorsqu’elle voit à quel monstre affreux elle a affaire, elle a tout d’abord un geste de recul et d’effroi. Cependant, elle est touchée par la pauvre créature et accepte de le suivre dans sa cabane où elle s’aperçoit qu’il meurt de chagrin. Elle lui adresse alors quelques douces paroles et… soudain, l’horrible Bête se transforme en un beau jeune homme. L’apothéose nous montre le jeune couple arrivant dans la maison du père de la Belle où une fête splendide est donnée en l’honneur de leur mariage.

In a strange grotto deep in the bowels of the earth a coffin uprights itself, dances, then opens, and out steps a demonic magician with skeletal face, horns, and cape. He wraps two women (who appear to be in a trance) in fabric, levitates them, and causes them to burst into flames and disappear. As he gathers their ashes in a pitcher a Good Spirit [a young woman who resembles Peter Pan] appears, shakes her head No, and reveals the "souls" of the two women in a secret compartment deeper within the cave. The Good Spirit vanishes in a puff of smoke. The magician then produces 3 glass bottles on pillars, takes them downstage close to the camera, and reveals 3 tiny women in them; one woman beats a tambourine while the other two sway. The magician pours ashes (?) into the bottles, but the Good Spirit reappears and makes these trapped figures disappear in a flash, angering the magician, who chases her away. He makes an easel appear. There is an odd sort of screen on it bearing the Pathe rooster logo. The magician then invents channel-surfing, causing three different "shows" to appear on the screen in rapid succession. The Good Spirit reappears and causes this strange television set to vanish, but the magician creates two more in turn, each more elaborate than the last, with various images of persons and dogs flashing across their screens. Finally, the Good Spirit reveals to the evil magician an area within the cave where there are four pillars and a tableau of distinguished-looking ladies (goddesses?). She takes the magician downstage, forces him to the ground, pours a pitcher of something on him (ashes? Holy water?) and turns him into a lifeless skeleton, which she reveals to the camera. Three tall flames appear in the foreground, and the film is over.

A devilish-like man appears in a puff of smoke. He conjures up a dress which stands by itself, and vanishes. A woman appears in the dress, and, taking a blanket makes various pretty girls appear and disappear. She then transforms her clothing into that of a man, and lines up several pedestals. There is a sudden rush of steam, and the same pretty girls we've seen before are shown standing on them. The magician then turns them into roses, which she drops on a little table. Taking several glasses and lining them up on the table, she pours wine into each, and yet again we are shown the same pretty girls, nodding and smiling. The woman pours water into the wine and the images of the women dissolve. The pedestals and the table vanish in a burst of fire, the woman bows, and changes herself back into the dress magically. The dress now stands up by itself once more, the devilish-like man appears again, and after making it disappear, explodes in a puff of smoke.
