One of Hardy's less colorful efforts. The orchestration leans toward MOR at times, and she only had a hand in writing about half the material, which zigzags between rock, sad ballads, sentimental pop, and chirpy showbiz. It can't be written off, though, as it contains one of her best-ever songs, "Fleur de Lune," with its beautifully moody melody, descending guitar lines, and sultry vocal. Actually, most of the rest isn't bad, whether it's the acoustic balladry of "Soleil," the pensive "L'Ombre," or the unexpectedly forceful "Le Crabe."

Like many of her previous records, it was originally released without a title and came to be referred to, later on, by the name of its most popular song. It is her second album produced under Hypopotam, a production company she established in 1970. She received a guitar on her sixteenth birthday as a reward for passing her baccalaureat. After a year at the Sorbonne she answered a newspaper advertisement looking for young singers.
Hardy signed her first contract with the record label Vogue in November 1961.
In April 1962, shortly after finishing school, her first record "Oh Oh Chéri" appeared.
Her own flip side of the record, "Tous les garçons et les filles" became a success, riding the wave of Yé-yé music in France.
Hardy sang of young love with both fetching moodiness and unrestrained ebullience; although she often wrote both her music and lyrics, she often co-wrote tunes with others as well.
She was greatly aided by a number of talented arrangers who seemed to be attempting (usually successfully) to blend American and British production sophistication with a Continental European sensibility.
