这是 BBC 拍摄的第2部有关2008年金融海啸的剧情片了，上一部Free Fall是纯剧情片，这一部片头字幕称除了部份虚构的对话外，大部份情节是基于公开记录。这部片子所说的是2008年9月12日星期五到14日星期天这3天“雷曼兄弟的最后日子”。主要故事线索是美国财政部长Hank Paulson召集几家美国最大的投资银行CEO密会，要他们在3天内拿出拯救 Lehman Brothers方案，同时Lehman Brothers CEO Dick Fulk 垂死挣扎试图保住银行的过程。 用成名演员(James Cromwell 演 Hank Paulson、Corey Johnson演Dick Fuld、Ben Daniels演John Thain、Alex Jennings演的是Tim Geithner)饰演角色，让这部剧摆脱了“事件重演”(reconstruction)的纪录片形象，而成为兼有法律剧的唇枪舌剑和阴谋片的悬疑和勾心斗角。 然而奇怪的是，Lehman Brothers 最终无法摆脱倒闭命运，是因为英国Barclays银行的最后退出，但在剧中却只是一笔带过，仅由Hank Paulson接听一个电话后向会议室内的众人宣布而已。一部由BBC拍摄的电视剧、却完全没有英国方面的角色和镜头，当时在美联储的 Barclays总裁Bob Diamond也没有出现，让这部电视剧有不完整的感觉。也许是需要BBC星期四播出的纪录片The Love of Money系列中的 The Bank That Bust the World来解释清楚了。
