Zee is walking up and down Manhattan streets, talking to herself and to the husband who has just left her. At a sidewalk café she runs into Eli, and a very unlikely, funny and touching relationship develops between two lost souls in the big city.

The tale of a young girl fresh off the bus from Iowa, who falls in love with a sexy and promising young actor, though their relationship threatens to complicate her own obsessive goal of becoming a famous actress. The film perfectly captures the delightful and desperate lives of those chasing dreams in Hollywood: One day they are shuffling down a boardwalk with too many suitcases, and the next they are lounging in contemporary hillside homes with a view of the city. In this sequel to the 2006 independent comedy-drama 'Hollywood Dreams' neurotic and ambitious actress Margie Chizek (Tanna Frederick) has finally made it in Hollywood as a B-movie actress and has a few feature film credits. But Maggie's plans for further stardom just might derail her career for good when she meets her beau's brother Aaron (Noah Wyle), who is the black sheep of the Lambert acting family, but also seems to be the only thing who sees the still-crazy and neurotic Maggie for who she really is.

Noah, a young woman who lives alone in New York, is dating two very different men, Fred and Mitch, at the same time. However, she realises that neither man can totally fulfil her needs.
