方志坚(岳华)是一名汽修工，为人正直。某天晚上在下班回家路上目睹一宗凶杀案, 凶手为黑帮分子谢大成(詹森), 混乱之间凶手逃之夭夭。随后方在警局孙警官（刘丹）的请求下协助指认出谢大成为杀人凶手。孙警官允诺在方出庭作证以前由警方保护其与他家人的人身安全。谢在负责的地下赌档被警察逮捕，谢背后的老大想花钱买通方出庭的时候做伪证被其严词拒绝，随后派出手下不断的骚扰、威胁、恐吓其妻（刘午琪）和年幼的女儿，逼其就范。在开庭前夕，妻女终被绑架，方迫于无奈在庭上放弃指认谢，谢被判无罪当庭释放。谢在出庭后在接他的车上，被其老大派的人杀人灭口，谢拼命逃脱不知所踪。方出庭后在染布厂找到了妻女，不幸其妻已不幸溺亡。方悲痛万分，誓要将恶人绳之以法。通过对其手下头目的逼问，直接杀入证交所捉拿大老板。在把交易所经理误认为大老板后，方被大老板手下枪手指住，此时谢突然出现救了方一命，不幸最终丧命于枪手之下，大老板也被谢的飞刀射中受伤。随后方一路追击，最终在游泳馆内成功抓住了幕后大佬！随后警察和女儿也赶到……
