牧田洋（加濑亮 饰）在动物保护中心担任行政兽医的职位，然而，他的主要工作却是人道主义灭绝那些在规定期限内没有人收养的流浪猫狗。这份工作虽然有着它存在的意义和价值，却给牧田洋和他的同事们带来了极大的心理负担，幡枝亚纪（户田惠梨香 饰）甚至只能向精神安慰剂寻求帮助。
