Tres amigos se ven obligados a separarse tras un atraco frustrado. Ocho años más tarde, la vida los vuelve a unir por azar a pesar de haber tomado caminos muy distintos. Eric (Miquel Fernández) sale de prisión tras ocho años de encierro durante los que ha perdido lo que más quería; Toni (Alex Barahona) ha decidido dejar de vivir al margen de la ley y se ha convertido en policía; por último, Tom (Juan Carlos Vellido) es el capo de una banda de criminales que actúa con la complicidad de la policía de la ciudad.

Julia, una niña de once años, quiere que sus padres separados vuelvan a juntarse. Para ello consigue que Ignacio, su padre y su “canguro” África, que viven juntos, se peleen, y que África conquiste a Alejo, el compañero de Mila, su madre. Pero el final puede que no sea el previsto por Julia porque, entre tanto, Mila se ha enamorado de Jorge, con el que espera un hijo.
