2018 film by Christian Petzold

An ecological drama/documentary, filmed throughout the globe. Part thriller, part meditation on the vanishing wonders of the sub-aquatic world.

Before Dawn charts the years of exile in the life of famous Jewish Austrian writer Stefan Zweig, his inner struggle for the "right attitude" towards the events in war torn Europe and his search for a new home.

Inspectors Gereon Rath and Charlotte Ritter investigate the death of a Hollywood actress during the filming of a big budget European blockbuster, only to uncover a twisted underworld plot.
