Eduardo, un pintor de brocha gorda llega a un manicomio para hacer algunas reparaciones locativas. Allí se enamora de Carolina, una de las pacientes que sufre de esquizofrenia paranoide. Sin entender el porqué Eduardo decide llevársela con él, tratando de sacarla de ese estado en el que se encuentra, en medio de locuras y de sacrificios descubre que a pesar de lo que haga el amor entre ellos es un caos por fuera de la institución mental, regresándola a donde debería estar; pero con la fuerte convicción de que ella es su amor verdadero y que hará hasta lo imposible para estar juntos.

One day, after being assaulted on the street and left for dead, Miguel awakens with no memory of the past. He has forgotten his distain for the dumpster divers, petty thieves, and wandering transients who crowd the city streets, and now their warmth and solidarity is the only thing keeping him alive. As Miguel forges a friendship with a pious but promiscuous drag queen, the fragments of the past gradually become illuminated in his mind, prompting him on a desperate quest to reclaim his identity and atone for the sins of his past.
