Police is investigating a series of explosions in Moscow subway.

Two kings: Fedot and Amphibrachiy have been adjoining peacefully for many years. But once Amphibrachiy disappeared, and it became difficult for queen to cope with affairs. The state began to fall into decay. Also daughter Alyona absolutely got out of control. So mother decided to marry her. The king Fedot had three sons: Paul-tsarevitch, Peter-tsarevitch and Ivan-tsarevitch, whom everybody considered to be a fool. But he managed to gain Alyona's heart and, having won Kashchei the Immortal, set free the king Amphibrachiy.

USSR, late 80's. Kozhemyakin, the former deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers, comes to Yalta for a vacation. Irina, who works as a van driver, is asked to meet him at the station. Accidental resort acquaintance unexpectedly grew into something more. Neither the difference in age, nor in social status did not become an obstacle. Irina agrees to become Kozhemyakin's wife and moves to Moscow.

Two reserved people, almost resigned to their loneliness, found each other at the Soviet-era sea resort on the late autumn. Long dinners with senceless conversations transform into a love story.

In the remote Ukrainian village of Dykanka, handsome but poor Vakula loves the beautiful Oksana, but she's holding out for a wealthy prince, and her father doesn't think much of him either. On Christmas Eve she sends him on a ridiculous quest for dancing shoes that takes him all the way to the imperial palace in Saint Petersburg, Russia, with the help of some odd characters from the village and the Devil himself.

The stories of the three friends continue. Inga, having "refreshed" her appearance with the help of plastic surgery, suddenly decides to return to her old love. Due to a stupid misunderstanding, Lilia quarrels with her husband Misha. Everything is going well for Alexander and Dasha, they are heading towards a wedding, but this romantic paradise is suddenly overshadowed by jealousy...

Grusha's (Lidiya Fedoseyeva-Shukshina) husband has left her and she is now a single parent to her adolescent son Vitya (Vladimir Naumenko). Her brother Nikolay (Mikhail Ulyanov) is determined to hook her up with his friend Vladimir (the film's co-director Stanislav Lyubshin). For Grusha and Vladimir to have privacy to build up their relationship, Nikolay decides his nephew Vitya needs to stay out of the way, so he urges Vitya to come live with his family for a while.
