Significantly better than Renegade, but still a subpar experience

The customization is still there, which means you still cannot tell who you're fighting, but at least you can now select out of pre-existing loadouts + three custom loadouts that you can edit.

You're now allowed to select a sensible control scheme, but it's still much worse than BF2 because there's no dedicated button for locking onto enemy with this scheme, and the auto-aiming system never does what you want it to do. In ground battles it doesn't lock nearly efficiently, only making you jitter, and in space battles it'll constantly lock, making it difficult for you to control the direction of the ship.

Performance and animations are still just as bad.

They implemented some features from the canceled BF3, such as the ability to switch between ground and space mid-battle. However, here it's done through cutscenes, which serve as glorified loading screens that interrupt the flow of the gameplay, making you not wanna use that feature. In addition, now there's a cutscenes every time you fly out of a hangar or into a hangar, making you wanna avoid space battles altogether.

This game is at most a curiosity, as the actual gameplay is frustrating.
