Whenever I can, I celerbate New Year by delving into stuff from my childhood. This year it was the CD companion to the January 2003 issue of GameLand magazine.
Honestly, I didn't even remember that I had gotten this game from there. This was also where I got the Panzer Dragoon demo and the Harry Potter: Chamber of Secrets demo, as well as another fighting game that I will review later.
Back then having games that you can play in hotseat was a big deal for me and my friends/cousins. Every one of them was treasured. This was no exception. A side-scrolling recreation of Quake 3. It was not even fair because one player was using the mouse and the other player had to aim with the keyboard, but whenever you managed to score frags with keyboard-aiming, you felt godlike.
Nowadays, all this game does is remind me I have no-one to play it with.
Tried my luck with the multiplayer, and the list of servers is completely empty.
Oh well...
