Esta es una página de muestra del calendario que @Irashila y yo queremos hacer.

La idea es que cada ilustración esté en un estilo de cuaderno de campo, con anotaciones interesantes que permitan identificar la especie, y una ficha técnica breve que incluya nombre científico y común, familia, datos sobre el hábitat, distribución geográfica nativa, período de floración y varios datos interesantes en forma de iconos (☠️ tóxica; 🍴comestible; 🔥 piroregeneradora; ⚕️medicinal; 🌹 ornamental; 🛡️protegida; y 🐝 favorece polinizadores.

Joe Pye weed (Eutrochium maculatum)

But who is Joe Pye? It seems to be the anglophone name of a very interesting Mohican, Joseph Shauquethqueat, living at the end of the 18th and the beginning of the 19th century, in Massachusetts and New York. Not clear he had anything to do with the plant, maybe only by association.

A scholarly article about botany, history and First Nations, with Latin names and a critical eye. Perfect 🤓
