I really really really wanted to like this book, but it just couldn't hold my attention.<br/><br/>Not sure if it's the narrator or what.<br/><br/>I listened to it. Pretty sure I followed most of the plot, but my mind would just wonder.<br/><br/>I'm generally a HUGE Tchaikovsky fan. *shrug*

I liked this book. I wanted to love it, but it's a bit too much for me.<br/><br/>Super hard to suspend my disbelief.<br/><br/>Some very sweet moments. So truly laugh-out-loud moments.<br/><br/>A bit to silly/sappy for my taste, though.

Clearly setting up some more adventures. We're back to a lot of parallel things happening at the same time. Some of the subplots are SUPER interesting. Some are not. Still excited for the next book...or three.

Dude weaves an amazing story. Great dialog. Great peaks into each character's mind. A fascinating, believable future with some crazy plot twists. Already inhaling #2.

Rated Fourth Wing 8/10

A fun book. The world building and magic bits are great. The characters are interesting and fun.<br/><br/>It's a bit...interesting? jarring?...to have a medieval vibe in the world with 2000s lingo (swearing, anatomy, etc), but it's entertaining.<br/><br/>The spicy parts are spicy. I don't think I'm the target audience, but I never wanted to put it down.<br/><br/>If you're into fantasy, not a prude, and over 18: enjoy.<br/><br/>Already downloaded book #2.

Rated Alien Clay 10/10

O.M.G. Tchaikovsky is just...mind blowing.<br/><br/>The book is gritty and dark and depressing. At times disgusting and heart wrenching. But the payoff: holy COW! The message borders on (wonderfully, powerfully, strikingly) subversive.<br/><br/>Recommended without reservation.
