I sat on this for a couple of months because I was unsure I was ready to get back into The Captive's War. The first novel was so terrifying and filled with despair I was sure this was going to be more so. It's just as stupefying in scope, but there are glimpses of possibility along with more death. Very very good sf.

Excellent mash-up of Urban Fantasy and food service. With plenty of humor. It took a few pages to really snag my attention, and I love the fact that it's a novella and not a great brooding volume.

Rated Hemlock & Silver 10/10

Rated Storm Waters 10/10

Spectacular hard-boiled period fantasy noir. Perfect language for the noir genre and wildly creative.
