Excellent. I enjoyed this tremendously. Get to this one.
Rated And Then I Danced: Traveling the Road to LGBT Equality 6/10
Interesting history, pat on the back writing with only surface-level insight. In other words, standard fare for any Open Lens-published memoir. The book also could have done a better job acknowledging bi and trans activists that spurred the early Pride movements, as most go unmentioned here. That said, Mark Segal has certainly accomplished a lot, and one should admire his tenacity.
Rated Doctor Who: Bernice Summerfield and the Criminal Code 7/10

Nothing amazing, but it's pretty good, and Lisa Bowerman is a better Companion Chronicles narrator than some.

Rated The Haunting of Tram Car 015 9/10

Loved this novella, the second book set in this world by Clark that I've read. Great ending.

Rated Doctor Who: Voyage to the New World 8/10
I really enjoyed this! I am inching, bit by bit, into hearing more of the Sixth Doctor's audio offerings. (And I enjoyed hearing Jago refer to himself as a "confirmed bachelor" because I never viewed him and Litefoot as straight.)
Rated The Iliad 8/10

4 is sort of rounding up for my reading/listening experience (I did the audiobook), but that might be because I had to take a break from this when a library hold came in. I did find The Odyssey a little easier to follow, though I read Wilson's translation rather than listened.

This is still a very listenable and clear translation of a story with a zillion characters. I admit to sometimes thinking that it is very much like listening to a relative or a guy at a bar going, "You know, [Guy]. So-and-so's son. Remember he could do [notable skill?]" And that's why this text has inspired so many subsequent books and poems and everything else. Lots of people involved in a massive war, after all!

Anyway, if you're going to read any translation of The Iliad, make it this one. Audra McDonald narrates the audiobook.

Rated The Invisible Library 7/10

Pleasantly surprised by this one, as it was suggested to me by someone I don't really know, but we are in the same Bluesky book group. It's fun. Sort of reminds me of a Doctor Who audio adventure I heard once (which now I can't remember the title, sorry. Vibe-based memory), but is an interesting premise in its own right. I'll probably read the next in the series.

Rated Chinaman: The Legend of Pradeep Mathew 8/10
This is a long novel, and because I'm not overly familiar with Sri Lanka or cricket, I would sometimes think, I'm not sure what he's talking about or what exactly is going on, yet I was enjoying myself. It takes a special sort of outstanding writer to make a non-sport person love reading 400 pages filled with it. Karunatilaka imbues W.G.'s voice with a subtle humor throughout, even as the man's health deteriorates.

(My full review can be found at Glorified Love Letters.)
