Rated Originals: How Non-Conformists Move the World 6/10
Thoroughly researched and full of good ideas, but nothing truly groundbreaking.

Rated Mordew 10/10
Certainly not to everyone's taste with the unfettered weirdness and often warped imagery on display, but I loved it. From the impenetrable world-building (which the equally impenetrable 85-page glossary that's almost a book in itself did little to help with) to the Dickensian urchins, to the 'Natural Philosophy' appendix, the whole thing is a glimpse into something very 'other'.
Rated Lost Acre 10/10
A cracking end to the series. I think I'll be revisiting the Rotherweird valley again in future.
Rated The Galaxy, and the Ground Within 10/10
As with the other books in the series, a very human story about some very non-human characters. The theme of having a group of people stuck in lockdown together is very timely.

I'm sad to see the end of these books, I'll definitely revisit them again.
Rated The Art of Dying 8/10
As meticulously researched as the first book, and as much of a page-turning crime-solver as you'd expect from Brookmyre.
Rated The City We Became 6/10
A very readable eldritch romp. To be applauded for its use of Lovecraftian mythos in a way that he would have hated.
Rated Rosewater 6/10
Strong setting and characters but a confusingly and disjointedly told story where there wasn't enough distinction between the Now and the Then periods.
