When I read this book, it felt like a classic fairytale turned feminist - told from the POV of an old white man. Tress develops a lot as a character in this book, sometimes a bit on the nose. The 'one true love' trope bothered me from beginning to end, but that's also a personal ick.
What really carries this book for me, is the worldbuilding. How Tress explores and discovers the world and herself along with it is what makes this book a great read. If you want to read a magical coming of age book, this might be a good fit!

This book is fantastic. It keeps you on your toes, because you cannot predict what absurd turn will come next. I've never read a book this campy. The writing style is comfy and campy. My only issue is that the final act feels a bit rushed and cheesy (though that also fits the bill, tbh).

Rated The Last Gifts of the Universe 9/10

It's a very cute, wholesome read. I mean, there's a cat in a space suit for heavens sake.
It's cozy and fun to read, but also has some truth bombs about the end, grief and letting go. It's worth the (short) read!
