You know, this was surprisingly good for what is the YA book adaptation of an X-Files episode. The writing at the end feels a bit rushed, and not nearly enough characterization time is spent with Scully compared to Mulder, but it's overall not bad.

Rated Bernice Summerfield: Epoch 10/10

I really loved this. This was my first full introduction to Bernice Summerfield, and though the stories made reference to things that had previously occurred, it was not vital to know to what she was referring in order to enjoy what was happening. Funny, mysterious, good characters. I'll definitely check out more things featuring her.

Rated Fiennders Keepers 8/10

I waffled a bit between three stars or four because there are too many damn characters to keep track of and sometimes the writing is bogged down in superfluous detail, but I kinda get that was part of the point -- that our histories are complex, and the English class system could really muck things up for people.

You can tell this is a first novel -- though it was released as Jean Marsh's second, she wrote this one first. Big ambition, sometimes shaky in execution. Still liked it, but would recommend her other two books first.

Ah, collective loneliness and anxiety about life. Enjoyed this. Worth returning it late to the library.

Rated Gallifrey: Echoes Through Eternity 8/10

Very much enjoyed this series of short trips for the 20th Anniversary of the Gallifrey series at Big Finish. It really is one of their best spin-offs. I haven't heard all the Time War sets, but all the ones previous are among my faves.
