Easy read set in an age about which I haven’t read that much.

Rated Refuse to Be Done: How to Write and Rewrite a Novel in Three Drafts 6/10

Pretty middle-of-the-pack writing book. There are some interesting bits, but for the most part, it's a repackaging of other techniques. It is interesting to know how Matt Bell works (it is always interesting to se how other writers work). But unless this is your first writing book ever, there is not anything new to add to your workflow.

Rated Hyperpolitics: Extreme Politicization without Political Consequences 6/10

This one came up in a daily Doctorow post, and seemed interesting and short enough.

It was fascinating to read Jäger's analysis of each historical political phase and his take on the causes of the transitions. I just wish it had been written in a bit more accessible language, even if that meant increasing the page count.
