🤔 🇨🇦 Over the past 4 or 5 decades I've noticed across this country there has been a drop in Canadians voting for governments who support the most vulnerable; subsidized housing, financial support, etc...we are abandoning our sense of community spirit, our social democracy.
Truly discouraging and disappointing.
Millions, yes that many, are barely surviving, living in squalor; crammed together in basements, or aging and crumbling social housing. in unsafe unsanitary conditions. or are on the streets.
The shortage of old subsidized housing units has increased wait lists up to 12 years in some areas.
Meanwhile Canadians are falling for political rhetoric of trickle down economics that is really, trickle down selfishness, or , the Americanization of Canada .
A country is judged by how it treats its most vulnerable, we are failing--and polls say we are one of the best, the most free but are we when we leave people trapped in despair due to extreme poverty?

Over 15 years ago I visited Saint John, NB to get married to a man from there. At our wedding reception, he persuaded me to go to a private area with his criminal friends. They held me there for hours while they threatened & terrified me, insulted me, then pretended to befriend me.
They told me they wanted me to go to a secret location 'in the woods' & I could never leave.

I finished my breakfast this morning only to discover that it's National Maple Syrup Day. A missed opportunity but at least I can share some important facts about Canada's sweet and sticky sauce.
- Indigenous People taught early Canadians how to harvest maple sap and boil it down into a sugary liquid.
- A maple tree can yield sap for up to 100 years, but the trees must be roughly 45 years old before it’s first tapped for syrup making.
- It takes roughly 40 gallons (150 litres) of tree sap to produce 1 gallon (3.8 litres) of syrup.
- Quebec produces 72% of the world’s maple syrup. In 2021, that equaled 133M lbs from Quebec.
- The big bottle of Costco Maple Syrup is from Quebec.
- Maple Syrup only has 1 ingredient. Sap.
- Maple Syrup has an indefinite shelf life but should be frozen if storing for more than 2 years.
And regarding the great Maple Syrup heist, this is still the best report on that famous crime.

今年断断续续看过几篇关于加拿大人旅游变化的文章，大致归纳如下：
1. 赴美旅游持续降低且还没看到底；
2. 各个年龄段里赴美旅游降低意愿最高的是中老年人并且因为留在境内旅游或去欧洲，花了比去美国度假更多的钱；
3. 年轻人意愿没有大幅降低因为第一就业形势不太好第二很多人没有车第三综合一二所以承担不起实际上更昂贵的境内消费……
感想就是加拿大人爱国的成本真不低啊，各个省的旅游相关基建都烂成💩。。。。。。
我去年到今年去了两次美国但都是公司掏的钱属于花美国公司的资源了，况且我对美国客户出口服务属于为加拿大制造贸易顺差……
