Cascade Creek Under the Bridge

Once again another image of my private little spot in Yosemite National Park.
It's obviously not my private spot but it seems secluded enough. I've never seen anyone else down here. I guess it's just a matter of luck as there is a well worn unofficial hiking trail down to this spot. The trail is steep but the tree roots work well as steps down.

Cascade Creek Under The Bridge

Cascade Creek rushes beneath the bridge in a bright, silken torrent, the long exposure turning the water into a smooth white ribbon that seems to glow from within. It pours over dark, time‑polished boulders, each rock slick with moisture and mottled with moss, giving the whole foreground a cool, tactile texture—wet granite, rough edges softened by the constant touch of the creek.

The water’s movement is almost musical: a low, continuous roar layered with lighter splashes as it tumbles through narrow channels. You can almost feel the mist on your skin—cold, clean, carrying the mineral scent of the Sierra Nevada and the faint sweetness of damp pine needles.

The whole image has that secluded, secret‑place energy—close, intimate, and alive with the sound and breath of moving water. It feels like a spot you’d stumble upon only by luck or instinct, a pocket of wilderness hidden just out of sight from the busy world above.

Emerald Cascade

A few miles outside of Yosemite Valley but still in the park is a little turnoff on Hwy 120 that mostly goes unnoticed. It's a real shame because at that turn off is this little gem off a waterfall. Cascade Creek drops down from the higher peaks on the north side and then cross under the highway here at the bridge.
