<p>Pues aquí os dejo lo que he estado escribiendo esta tarde: habla del portastudio, la reseñita chula de <span class="h-card"><a href="https://masto.es/@miguelespigado" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>miguelespigado</span></a></span> el Nebraska de Springsteen y las cosas que ando haciendo en este conjuntillo de locuras mías :))</p><p><a href="https://galeriaspreciados.band/portastudio-cassettes-cassetes/" rel="nofollow" class="ellipsis" title="galeriaspreciados.band/portastudio-cassettes-cassetes/"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">galeriaspreciados.band/portast</span><span class="invisible">udio-cassettes-cassetes/</span></a> </p><p><a href="/tags/synthpop/" rel="tag">#synthpop</a> <a href="/tags/diy/" rel="tag">#diy</a> <a href="/tags/indie/" rel="tag">#indie</a> <a href="/tags/cassettes/" rel="tag">#cassettes</a></p>
<p>The <a href="/tags/ethiopiques/" rel="tag">#Ethiopiques</a> series which began in the late 1990s was responsible for introducing many of us in the US and Europe to the brilliant sounds of 60s & 70s Ethiopian jazz. I worked at a record shop in New Orleans around 2010 and the owner, who was also obsessed with this music, traveled to Ethiopia and brought back dozens of <a href="/tags/cassettes/" rel="tag">#cassettes</a>. There’s quite an array here—from vocal to instrumental, folk to jazz. My favorite might be the Ali Mohammed Birra tape. He was featured on later Ethiopiques compilations and is considered an icon of Oromo music. </p><p>Thanks to <span class="h-card"><a href="https://masto.ai/@cybeardjm" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>cybeardjm</span></a></span> for reminding me of this beautiful music and for the constant stream of <a href="/tags/music/" rel="tag">#music</a> from The Continent.</p>
<p>As I have now combined two accounts, I’m just pinning this here:</p><p>If you follow me because we both love music and particularly music on vinyl, then you may want to mute the <a href="/tags/retrocomputing/" rel="tag">#retrocomputing</a> hashtag. </p><p>If you follow me because we both love old computers and particularly the Commodore 64, then you may want to mute the <a href="/tags/vinyl/" rel="tag">#vinyl</a>, <a href="/tags/cassettes/" rel="tag">#cassettes</a> and <a href="/tags/tapes/" rel="tag">#tapes</a> hashtags. </p><p>Of course if you, like me, are passionate about both of those things, then we have achieved enlightenment together and should maybe get married. Boom shanka.</p>
<p>Got a whole grip of tapes at a show last night. The person who runs the tape label, which features bands from all over the world, also set up the show. <a href="/tags/cassettes/" rel="tag">#cassettes</a> <a href="/tags/punk/" rel="tag">#punk</a> <a href="/tags/diy/" rel="tag">#DIY</a></p><p>XTRO DIY tape label<br>Ft.
