This was my student’s first time making glaze. Exciting! They’ve finished building their pieces which are now ready to be bisque fired and we’ve made a small amount of glaze to test on little tiles before we apply it to the larger pieces. I referred them to http://glazy.org, an amazing, free international database of glaze recipes & materials, to search for cone 6 glazes that caught their eye. I love demystifying a process that can seem intimidating at first. #ceramics #GlazeChemistry

These photos are from last weekend. I provided a free Clay Play table for an event at the local skatepark. My husband’s a skateboarder & skatepark designer so I got linked in through his network. It was so sweet, fun and, best of all, relaxing. A few kids got hooked and stayed at the table for the entire four hours I was there. It’s incredible how #clay can captures kids’ attention in that way. #kidsart #pottery #ceramics

A rather beautiful wally close in the west end of Glasgow. For those not familiar with the term, wally refers to the ceramic tiles used to line the communal stairwell (the close) of a tenement building.

#glasgow #wallyclose #tiles #ceramics #tiling #hyndland #architecture #architecturephotography
