<p>May I introduce: her majesty, the <a href="/tags/caddisfly/" rel="tag">#caddisfly</a> 🪰</p><p><a href="/tags/rottersee/" rel="tag">#RotterSee</a>, 3m “soup” visibility, typical for <a href="/tags/spring/" rel="tag">#spring</a>. A closer look reveals some funny fellows, especially at this time of the year. Camouflage is everything! Although, if you walk through the lake with one of these cases...very inconspicuous 🙈 ! Everyone has their own architectural style!</p><p><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caddisfly" rel="nofollow" class="ellipsis" title="en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caddisfly"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caddisfl</span><span class="invisible">y</span></a></p><p>@[email protected] <a href="/tags/scuba/" rel="tag">#scuba</a> <a href="/tags/scubadiving/" rel="tag">#scubadiving</a> <a href="/tags/diving/" rel="tag">#diving</a> <a href="/tags/tauchen/" rel="tag">#tauchen</a> <a href="/tags/troisdorf/" rel="tag">#troisdorf</a> <a href="/tags/rheinsieg/" rel="tag">#RheinSieg</a> </p><p>Pictures: <span class="h-card"><a href="https://social.tchncs.de/@jens_schuette" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>jens_schuette</span></a></span></p>

<p>When you wait in vain for the <a href="/tags/traffic/" rel="tag">#traffic</a> light to turn green 😵 ...</p><p>The <a href="/tags/lake/" rel="tag">#lake</a> in the former limestone quarry near <a href="/tags/stromberg/" rel="tag">#Stromberg</a> was created in 2015 after a groundwater vein was blasted. Thanks to this source, the water there is never colder than 8°C, even in winter...good for a proper warm-up 😉 ! And as usual, you can find funny remnants of people in such a body of <a href="/tags/water/" rel="tag">#water</a></p><p>Picture taken by my buddy <span class="h-card"><a href="https://social.tchncs.de/@jens_schuette" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>jens_schuette</span></a></span> in autumn 2024</p><p>@scubadivers <a href="/tags/diving/" rel="tag">#diving</a> <a href="/tags/scuba/" rel="tag">#scuba</a> <a href="/tags/underwater/" rel="tag">#underwater</a> <a href="/tags/scubadiving/" rel="tag">#scubadiving</a></p>
<p><a href="/tags/caddisfly/" rel="tag">#caddisfly</a> larvae everywhere. They are interesting insects. They live for a year or more in the water. There they are astonishing architects for their cases.</p><p>If you look close, you can see a lot of Hydras on the pondweed. They are indeed special creatures. They are not ageing and don't die of age! They regenerate all the time. <p>Diving with best buddy and photographer Jens 🥰. <br>I swear, I can hear him thinking underwater...there's some form of wireless connection after more than 700 dives together.</p><p>Perhaps we've passed the point of no return of getting dive-freaky 🙃.</p><p><span class="h-card"><a href="https://social.tchncs.de/@jens_schuette" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>jens_schuette</span></a></span> @scubadivers </p><p><a href="/tags/scuba/" rel="tag">#scuba</a> <a href="/tags/scubadiving/" rel="tag">#scubadiving</a> <a href="/tags/diving/" rel="tag">#diving</a> <a href="/tags/underwater/" rel="tag">#underwater</a> </p><p><a href="/tags/germany/" rel="tag">#germany</a> <a href="/tags/koln/" rel="tag">#koln</a> <a href="/tags/widdauen/" rel="tag">#widdauen</a></p>

Expeditions in caves without seeing light for weeks.</p><p>But he is also a very good teacher. And you can see from look in his eyes that he just loves <a href="/tags/diving/" rel="tag">#diving</a>. <p>Hey scuba divers! 👋 </p><p>Someone has just set up a group for scuba diving discussion at:</p><p>➡️ @scubadivers </p><p>I had a request from <span class="h-card"><a href="https://bonn.social/@tinca_tinca" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>tinca_tinca</span></a></span> to feature the group as they want to get a diving community established here on the Fediverse 🙂 They will be posting in the group from time to time, and everyone is free to join in too.</p><p>(If you're unsure how groups work, there's a guide here: <a href="https://fedi.tips/how-to-use-groups-on-the-fediverse/" rel="nofollow" class="ellipsis" title="fedi.tips/how-to-use-groups-on-the-fediverse/"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">fedi.tips/how-to-use-groups-on</span><span class="invisible">-the-fediverse/</span></a>)</p><p><a href="/tags/scubadiving/" rel="tag">#ScubaDiving</a> <a href="/tags/scubadivers/" rel="tag">#ScubaDivers</a> <a href="/tags/diving/" rel="tag">#Diving</a> <a href="/tags/divers/" rel="tag">#Divers</a> <a href="/tags/underwater/" rel="tag">#Underwater</a></p>

<p>Today’s post isn’t about a wreck – it is all about critters! 🐛🐠<br>First up: Hermodice carunculata, better known as the bearded fireworm. We’ve actually spotted quite a few of them this year. I didn’t recognize it at first and was very tempted to touch it with bare fingers – which would’ve been a painful mistake! 🔥🪱<br>Next: Scorpaena scrofa, the red scorpionfish. Fun fact: <span class="h-card"><a href="https://bonn.social/@tinca_tinca" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>tinca_tinca</span></a></span> has never spotted one on her own – she always needs a little hint. 😉🐟<br>And finally, we even saw a few nudibranchs. The photo shows an Edmundsella pedata taken on the shot of the wreck Vassilios T.<br>@scubadivers <a href="/tags/scuba/" rel="tag">#scuba</a> <a href="/tags/critters/" rel="tag">#critters</a> <a href="/tags/diving/" rel="tag">#diving</a> <a href="/tags/photography/" rel="tag">#photography</a></p>

<p>From a diver's perspective 🤿 </p><p>This is the entrance area of the <a href="/tags/cuevadelagua/" rel="tag">#CuevaDelAgua</a> an underwater <a href="/tags/cave/" rel="tag">#cave</a>. The view upwards shows you an impressive ceiling. It somehow reminds you of stalactites. But this cave wasn't dry long enough for that. You think about how the water has created this work of art over thousands of years... </p><p>What will you discover around the next corner? </p><p>Picture: <span class="h-card"><a href="https://social.tchncs.de/@jens_schuette" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>jens_schuette</span></a></span> </p><p><a href="/tags/scubadiving/" rel="tag">#scubadiving</a> <a href="/tags/diving/" rel="tag">#diving</a> <a href="/tags/scuba/" rel="tag">#scuba</a> <a href="/tags/tauchen/" rel="tag">#tauchen</a> <a href="/tags/cavediving/" rel="tag">#cavediving</a> <a href="/tags/spain/" rel="tag">#spain</a> <a href="/tags/underwater/" rel="tag">#Underwater</a> </p><p>@scubadivers</p>
