<p>While this account is mainly dedicated to <a href="/tags/fedilab/" rel="tag">#Fedilab</a>, we also build some other apps.<br>Currently, we are working on an app called <a href="/tags/castlab/" rel="tag">#CastLab</a>. We made great improvements on it. This app can be run on Android or iOS </p><p>The goal of this app is to easily cast media from your device to TV or devices supporting apps such Kodi.</p><p>CastLab will be published only on <a href="/tags/fdroid/" rel="tag">#FDroid</a> and no Google services will be involved such a Chromecast support.</p>

<p>The last index update triggered a bug in the official <a href="/tags/fdroid/" rel="tag">#FDroid</a> client, and Basic: you&#x27;ll see a toast with &quot;not nullable: icon&quot; and the index won&#x27;t update. We have reverted the related change and working on fixing the bug. The fix will take about two build cycles to be deployed, so about one week. You can get the latest index now by cleaning app data/reinstalling, but setup your 3-rd party repos and priorities back. <p>We didn&#x27;t plan to publish the <a href="/tags/holos/" rel="tag">#Holos</a> app on Google Play or the App Store. We will publish on <a href="/tags/fdroid/" rel="tag">#FDroid</a> for Android and on <a href="/tags/altstore/" rel="tag">#AltStore</a> for iOS.</p>

<p>Yes, <a href="/tags/fedilab/" rel="tag">#Fedilab</a> has some differences between its Google Play version and its <a href="/tags/fdroid/" rel="tag">#FDroid</a> version.<br>There are mostly due to restrictions from Google.</p><p>In the Google app we had to remove:</p><p>- Donation links<br>- Register an account on Mastodon (as they don&#x27;t want to understand that the app doesn&#x27;t collect emails). <br>- Filter some search results with <a href="/tags/peertube/" rel="tag">#Peertube</a> to exclude &quot;YouTube Downloader&quot; videos</p><p>To Google users, keep in mind you can easily switch to FDroid, we would be happy to help if you have questions</p>

<p>We published the very first version of <a href="/tags/castlab/" rel="tag">#CastLab</a> in our <a href="/tags/fdroid/" rel="tag">#FDroid</a> repo.</p><p>In the readme file, we added the next goals (cf the ToDo section).</p><p><a href="https://codeberg.org/tom79/CastLab" rel="nofollow"><span class="invisible">https://</span>codeberg.org/tom79/CastLab</a></p><p>Thank you for your future feedback to improve this app.</p><p>PS: CastLab is an app that allows you to cast media from your device albums to your television without Google services.</p>

<p>Just to be clear, our goal is not to publish releases on Framadrive forever, though it helps a lot. <p>Regarding the <a href="/tags/holos/" rel="tag">#Holos</a> app, we&#x27;ll focus on the <a href="/tags/fdroid/" rel="tag">#FDroid</a> build and are confident about a quick release. We&#x27;ve already started the work. As for Google Play, we&#x27;ll try submitting there, but if they reject us or demand feature removal, we won&#x27;t proceed.</p>

<p><a href="/tags/holos/" rel="tag">#Holos</a> rc-2 is ready to be published on <a href="/tags/fdroid/" rel="tag">#FDroid</a>. It should now be available within days. We will continue to provide our package through our custom F-Droid repo and our direct download link.</p><p><a href="/tags/holossocial/" rel="tag">#HolosSocial</a></p>

<p>Currently, our <a href="/tags/holos/" rel="tag">#Holos</a> relay server is hosted on our main server alongside all our other projects. With the <a href="/tags/fdroid/" rel="tag">#FDroid</a> launch underway, we&#x27;re considering running a fundraiser to cover the costs of a dedicated server for this flagship project. We want to find the right balance: neither oversizing the infrastructure nor underestimating our needs. This would be our first fundraiser dedicated to a specific project, and we welcome all your feedback. Thank you</p>
