I saw the cover of the current @linuxmagazine “Streaming in the Fediverse”, and I’m a bit disappointed at the actual coverage of #Fediverse music services and the community of musicians - it is primarily a feature on *Navidrome* (which is great, but not federated) with a mention of Funkwhale. It could have covered Bandwagon, Mirlo, The Indie Beat Radio & TV, PeerTube and more. I’d be happy to submit a piece on this at some point if the editors are interested…!

After about twelve hours, the same post had received more than 300 shares and likes on Mastodon, while it had only been shared three times and liked four times on BlueSky.

I'm no social media expert, but it's amazing how reluctant people are to use Mastodon because of its lack of reach and interaction.

If we bring more people here, the Fediverse could become the de facto public square.

It’s designed for two types of people:

Normies / newcomers – Think of it like a free, privacy-respecting Linktree. No trackers, no ads. But here's the cool part: it's a Trojan horse for the fediverse. Your profile link is itself an ActivityPub actor. That means people can interact with it directly in the fediverse, and it encourages exploration of open platforms.

Fediverse users, If you have multiple accounts (#Mastodon, #Pixelfed, Loops, a federated blog…), you know the struggle: sometimes you just want one persona to follow. This tool gives you that. 4. 如果可以，你可以自托管你的服务器，将数据主权拿在自己手里，如果想做但是缺少技术，我可以提供帮助（我使用Taskfile批量部署，将来可能把这个做成一个生意，希望大家能支持233 @admin ）

My experience of the #fediverse :

Year 1 (2023):
It feels a little lonely as 99% of my friends stayed on Big Tech platforms.

Year 2 (2024):
I start a blog - #TheFutureIsFederated - to explain the fediverse to "normies"... and I make a lot of new (techie) friends.

Year 3 (2025):
My techie friends encourage me to start self-hosting with #YunoHost... and I do! (GoToSocial, PeerTube, NextCloud...) I LOVE it.

Year 4 (2026):
I plan to buy a Heltec to try out off-grid mesh radio communication 💁‍♀️

Inspired by @_elena I am trying to not let the #forkiverse die. I am following interesting accounts from other instances and boosting local feed.
