Just FYI, just updated the Fedi.Garden website so it now has a different general server as the default suggestion, alongside a couple of other good ones and a link to over 100 other good ones.

This is what people see if they click on "Please suggest a good server":

Here are two things everyone can do to help combat this:

1. If you see an account posting or spamming Telegram links, report it. Many of the accounts are impersonating news outlets — check verification status, the account's follower count, or the outlet's website to confirm if the account is real or fake.

2. Donate to your local mods if you can, or at least give them a big virtual hug and say thanks. They've been working tirelessly around the clock to combat this and deserve our gratitude and support.

new year update on what I'm using: #phanpy and #pl-fe as desktop clients, my own #fedicat and a bit of #IceCubes on iOS, hosting this and other official accounts on #mastohost, account on iosdev.space is super useful for ios dev, random posting on universeodon.com (basically where I started in the #fediverse, in retrospect I would have picked something with a shorter domain), love using #neodb and #bookwyrm, and thanks to all the admins out their hosting my test accounts!
