Hi, I'm looking for an entry level/junior/apprenticeship job since I'm fresh out of college (BS in computer engineering). I am currently in central florida, but I would be more than willing to move somewhere else (especially either to the north or to Europe) for a job. Remote is also fine.
In terms of computer-y things, the stuff I enjoy doing the most includes:
Updating legacy codebases to be Good and Modern. Removing cruft, changing languages, whatever it may be. It's my zen.
Wrangling automation/build systems or making tools to automate things/make things easier.
Designing hardware with HDLs (VHDL or spade)
Embedded development (currently, mainly in C and/or assembly)
General linux/unix server upkeep. I help a friend host their website + some game servers on their linux laptop. Includes networking & sysadmining. I helped with IT at my college during my learning, so I have ~2 years of hands-on IT work.
Developing open source software.
Reverse engineering/documenting things.
A living list of languages I have used can be found on my website, and I am generally quick at learning new ones. That page also includes my forgejo (where my projects are) and my github (where I contribute to other projects)
Outside of strictly computer-y things, I would also be fine with:
Archiving/cataloging work (e.g. library/museum)
Electrician work (apprenticeship needed)
I would prefer to work at either an established company or the public sector. Preferably not an evil one too. Preferably European companies, with an eventual desire to move to Europe, but I'll take anything I can get.
I can provide more details like a specific resume/etc. in private/on an actual listing.
