Hey, this is kind of an informal announcement, but my budget is tight and I’m a full-time student. I figured that I’d post here that I’m looking to do some freelance work, particularly when it comes to writing. Most of what I specialize in is open source, exploring technology, how-to guides, interviews, and media production. I also have experience with brand voice, and wouldn’t mind helping with community engagement.
For a sample of my stuff, check out either We Distribute or my blog.
I’ll make a formal blog post about it later today.
I have never really put down the rates I have for software development contracting work and seeing as I'm back being fully self-employed due to getting laid off last year I thought I should finally do that. (I offer a 50% discount for any work done on open source projects!)
More info here: https://blog.phoenix616.dev/posts/contracting (I am also open for more long term contracts, ideally in the open source or gaming industry.)
If you want to just support my open-source work then you can also do that through a direct tip here: https://phoenix616.dev/tip

I have low hopes for this one but sure :3
If you're looking to hire someone in Poland either remotely or in Warsaw who:
has a lot of experience dealing with MediaWiki management (all-around wiki management, automations, custom scripts, etc.)
was a community manager at a large project
has experience with advanced technical support, investigating issues and filing tickets
did a lot of software localization and i18n QA
can do frontend dev
let me know, i can share my resume and references upon request
Anybody want to hire a fullstack js/ts dev with decades of experience and no "ai" taint? I do it all, I look good doing it, I'm cheap as hell, and I don't use rented coding tools so you can own all the code I write for you.
Remote from Canada, Eastern time zone.
I'm looking for a part-time, fully remote #job.
My main occupation is Mission:Libre, a project to inspire young people between the ages of 11 and 14 to join the free software movement. This job would help me live while I keep building on Mission:Libre.
My skills are in customer service, communications, writing and project planning. I'm also good at clerical work and bookkeeping. And of course, I have an interest in technology.
Time zones aren't an issue for me.
I'm looking for a new job starting in October! I'm a physicist by training, did a PhD and postdoc in experimental quantum physics. My experience ranges over laser and vacuum technology, physics simulations, data analysis, environmental monitoring services, publication writing and much more.
If you are aware of cool and very science-related opportunities (especially in the #Munich area, definitely Germany), let me know!
#GetFediHired #Germany

Posted a tentative one a while ago, been pushing off one more, so here goes:
I still need to find a new job.
I am a software dev, professionally mostly web stuff, not my thing, want to move closer to hardware/more technical (e.g. embedded), pick up things very quickly. Other vague interests include graphics programming, algorithm engineering, space or medtech.
Hints for anything nd, queer, and remote (or Berlin) friendly not too much on the "AI" bandwagon welcome.
Bad news 😔💔
I am sad to announce today that unfortunately I will not be working with Privacy Guides anymore after the end of this month.
Good news! 🚨
I will be available for a new position or contract, starting in April!
I am looking for a position or contact for:
✊ Digital rights activist (with a specialty in privacy rights)
🔒 Privacy expert or consultant
Fediverse and Mastodon advocate
🙌 Managerial position
📰 Tech journalist
💻 Technical writer
💚 Or any other fitting positions
I am especially interested in working with nonprofit organisations, cooperatives, open-source projects, privacy-oriented software companies, or any other organisations working for the public good.
🇨🇦 Remote from Canada
All the work I produce is guaranteed to be AI-free
Let me know if you hear of any good opportunities!
💼 Alright, I usually go direct, but here I am putting a general call out to people who make videos who're in a position to hire me!
I index your videos – i.e. write chapter points, categorised, giving viewers a structured way of navigating them – and publish collections of these indexed videos as websites, including the whole web design and ongoing server admin. The entire process is done by me, assisted only by my own understanding and experience, from the analysing and writing of the videos' summarised chapter points, to my special-purpose website generation software for publishing it all.
Further info at https://miblo.net/cinera/#cinera and you're invited to hire me directly from the site.
P.S. If the videos you'd like me to index are hosted on PeerTube, you'll need to let me know before putting in your request so I can actually write the support for this!

I'm a telecommunications engineer, data scientist and software developer with a PhD in bioinformatics looking for a fully remote position, on CET timezone, though I don't mind adapting to a different schedule if the conditions are right. I'm based in Europe (Spain).
You can take a look at my website to get an idea of the things I'm into and the projects I like to tackle:
I'm mostly interested in compilers, DSP and gamedev positions but I'm quite flexible to do anything from web dev to firmware work. Mostly looking for interesting and challenging projects with a nice team.
I'm not interested in any job that involves AI of any kind.
Bonus points for something on the open source sphere or involved on the arts.
Comparto.
