<p>Dear US friends. For a few bucks a month you can get, say, a terabyte of storage in a European datacenter at an EU-based hosting company to store pictures, documents, backups from you, your family and friends to keep them a bit further away from US authorities. It's not a 100% guarantee, but better than nothing.</p><p>I personally have <a href="/tags/nextcloud/" rel="tag">#Nextcloud</a> based storage at <a href="/tags/hetzner/" rel="tag">#Hetzner</a> for that. Other companies offer similar solutions. <p>If you care about what you're building, don't host your stuff with Hetzner. Don't trust them.</p><p>They will take you down without warning and won't answer your queries. For sure, they'll send you an invoice, tho.</p><p>Happened before with <a href="https://ursal.zone/@Ursalzona" rel="nofollow">@Ursalzona</a> and other fediverse servers, happened now with this Peertube instance, and it's best to avoid being their next victim.</p><p>Go host your stuff somewhere else.
