An abandoned former military base in East Germany

After 1945, Soviet forces converted the old German base into a closed military town. By the 1970s, around 75,000 soldiers and families lived here. It was abandoned in the mid-1990s.

Many relics of the Soviet occupation remain. A statue of Lenin stands near the entrance.
