Gemini

I've been looking for a clean, #NoAI Markdown editor to replace Logseq. Logseq is great but has a lot of bloat that I don't need for simple writing (like my scripts). I tried MarkText and I enjoy it, but I just learned that it hasn't been updated in over a year with little to no activity on their github, which is a concern for security and longevity.

What are you all using for distraction free writing, especially for markdown?

#FOSS #OpenSource #Linux #Debian #Markdown

#Markdown: I’m going back and forth on how line breaks should work:

(1) On one hand, it’s nice if a newline at the end of a line becomes a line break:
• It fits with Markdown’s WYSIWYG philosophy.
• You can list lines without having to add extra markup (bullets or explicit line breaks).

(2) On the other hand:
• The de-facto standard across MD dialects is to support hard-wrapped text.
• Line breaks via backslashes are now broadly supported and reasonably convenient.

(#2 probably wins.)
