Yes, it *is* a sort of box-ticking Spielberg pastiche, BUT is also a great time out at the movies that doesn't condescend to you about how oh, we "get" the joke, like journey to the centre of the earth or land of the lost or whatever. There are dinosaurs in the neighbourhood! It is the early 80's! Get Moving!

Sur le papier l'idée est horriblement fadasse, à l'écran ça rend étonnamment bien. Aucun coup d'éclat scénaristique mais une réalisation OK et une une petite bande de jeune bien sympathique. Une cozy arnaque dans le bassin d'Arcachon.Note : Instagram alcoolisé / 20

In turns deeply unsettling, oddly prescient, deeply hilarious, and very moving. Loses half a star for the worst-placed blooper reel in moviegoing history. Sellers and MacLaine are so good as a couple with an absolute void of chemistry, almost the polar opposite of the relationship she had with Jack Lemmon

Unlike Interstellar, a rewatch really just highlights the flaws, chief amongst them the fact that it really is a load of old cobblers, storytelling-wise. There’s stuff to like here, but I never need to see it again.

Kind of slow and repetitive, but the cinematography and visuals are good.It's clearly against the Afghanistan war, but still feels pro-America. I guess this is necessary for the target audience to relate to the story, but it still feels weird.

Started out charming enough, but then it just kept going. The setting never made much sense—which seems common in horror movies—but it goes completely off-the-rails in the second half. Its rules are inconsistent and don't even serve the narrative well.
