I don't like Sharknado or bad movies made on purpose, but this... this isn't like that Assylum crap, this is great. Everything about it, from the practical models to the plot twists, all of it seems tailor made to make me laugh and clap.

Tomorrow, October 1st, 2025 I'm starting the first edition of #Kaijuktober #Film Festival (#KFF)! During October, I'll be watching one #kaiju #movie every day. My plan for this year is to watch every movie from the #Toho #Showa era — around 25 movies. I'll probably be tooting about KFF daily instead of doing my usual weekly recap.
I start tomorrow with the original Godzilla (1954). Can't wait!

Stylish and/but derivative, I still haven't decided if that's a bad thing here: the movie is proud of all the elements it rips from other sci-fi-horrors, as it rips them from the best, and it knows to coat them with cool electric lights and production design too good for its budget. Look, the director is called Flying Lotus, this isn't going to be subtle nor high-brow.
I can't say the movie's great, I was bored at times due to uneven pacing and the constant feeling that cheap twists are coming, but I can appreciate an exercise in style. I just wish that movies didn't have to rely so much in the past.

As a new year begins, let us ponder movies with different endings! This month, Susan's Cinema Stash will be showing the following films:
★ Clue (1985) - Based on the famous board game, different endings to the movie were famously shown in different theaters, giving everyone a different movie experience! 
★ Harikrishnans - This film resolved a love triangle by showing different endings in different theaters! However, they only submitted one ending to the Central Board of Film Certification, thus embroiling the producers in legal battles. 
★ 3 Ninjas (International Version) - This goofy action comedy was an entirely different experience if you watched it in America vs. the rest of the world when it came out. 
★ Black Mirror: Bandersnatch - The famous interactive episode of this series where the audience will vote live on which paths we take!
