<p>This is not new, just writing and pinning it here so I can point people to this.</p><p><a href="/tags/openstreetmap/" rel="tag">#OpenStreetMap</a>&#x27;s site has one big problem: people think it&#x27;s an alternative to GMaps, while it&#x27;s in fact a technology demonstrator. </p><p>* The map itself does not show all types of features, and adding new features is a nontrivial process.<br>* The search widget talks to a georeferencer which can find some type of features by names and resolve addresses, but can&#x27;t find generics like &#x27;butcher&#x27;.</p><p>1/</p>
