<p>This activity should have been published by <span class="h-card"><a href="https://pawfed.org/@PawFed" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>PawFed</span></a></span> (a small bug that I will fix quickly) But <a href="/tags/pawfed/" rel="tag">#PawFed</a> got its first publication <a href="https://pawfed.org/point/nxwrg3bjwpwmr7cpo5vcyv0t" rel="nofollow" class="ellipsis" title="pawfed.org/point/nxwrg3bjwpwmr7cpo5vcyv0t"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">pawfed.org/point/nxwrg3bjwpwmr</span><span class="invisible">7cpo5vcyv0t</span></a></p>
<p>To make things clearer with <a href="/tags/pawfed/" rel="tag">#PawFed</a>, a new page has been added. It shows how to build a message and lets you test it live. Translations are directly used for detection.</p><p>You can try it here: <a href="https://pawfed.org/tags" rel="nofollow"><span class="invisible">https://</span>pawfed.org/tags</a></p><p>More about the project: <a href="https://pawfed.org/how-it-works" rel="nofollow"><span class="invisible">https://</span>pawfed.org/how-it-works</a></p><p>Account: <span class="h-card"><a href="https://pawfed.org/@PawFed" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>PawFed</span></a></span></p>
<p><a href="/tags/pawfed/" rel="tag">#PawFed</a> is a project close to my heart. It's a collaborative map for animal welfare that bridges the <a href="/tags/fediverse/" rel="tag">#Fediverse</a> and <a href="/tags/openstreetmap/" rel="tag">#OpenStreetMap</a>.</p><p>The idea: mention <span class="h-card"><a href="https://pawfed.org/@PawFed" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>PawFed</span></a></span> from your Mastodon account with hashtags and a location, and your report appears on the map. No signup, no app, just your existing Fediverse account.<br>It's not perfect yet, but the foundation is there. I will publish the source code soon under AGPL.</p><p>More: <a href="https://pawfed.org/how-it-works" rel="nofollow"><span class="invisible">https://</span>pawfed.org/how-it-works</a></p>
<p>RE: <a href="https://toot.fedilab.app/@apps/116245941766830884" rel="nofollow" class="ellipsis" title="toot.fedilab.app/@apps/116245941766830884"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">toot.fedilab.app/@apps/1162459</span><span class="invisible">41766830884</span></a></p><p><a href="/tags/pawfed/" rel="tag">#PawFed</a> is not limited to reports about animals found or in distress. You can use it to offer help or ask for it.</p><p>Use <a href="/tags/offer/" rel="tag">#offer</a> when you provide help, <a href="/tags/request/" rel="tag">#request</a> when you need it, <a href="/tags/info/" rel="tag">#info</a> to share useful information.</p><p>Everything works through <a href="/tags/activitypub/" rel="tag">#ActivityPub</a>. If you delete your original post mentioning <span class="h-card"><a href="https://pawfed.org/@PawFed" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>PawFed</span></a></span>, the related report is automatically removed from the map. No database ghost. You stay in control of your data. (1/3)</p>
<p>cool, <a href="/tags/pawfed/" rel="tag">#pawfed</a> picked out the address correctly using the at keyword</p><p><a href="https://pawfed.org/tags" rel="nofollow"><span class="invisible">https://</span>pawfed.org/tags</a></p>
<p>The source code of <a href="/tags/pawfed/" rel="tag">#PawFed</a> is now available on <a href="/tags/codeberg/" rel="tag">#Codeberg</a>. PawFed is a federated map for animal welfare: reports come from the <a href="/tags/fediverse/" rel="tag">#Fediverse</a> via <a href="/tags/activitypub/" rel="tag">#ActivityPub</a> mentions, and permanent places like shelters and vets are pulled from OpenStreetMap. </p><p>A location is not always required: if you have supplies or food to give away and can ship, just say so. </p><p>Found an abandoned animal? Just report it.</p><p>How to build a message: <a href="https://pawfed.org/tags" rel="nofollow"><span class="invisible">https://</span>pawfed.org/tags</a></p><p>Source code: <a href="https://codeberg.org/tom79/PawFed" rel="nofollow"><span class="invisible">https://</span>codeberg.org/tom79/PawFed</a></p>
