Sightings of the Finlayson's squirrel in parts of Metro Manila have been confirmed by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
It said that the squirrel is an "invasive species that may threaten local ecosystems" and its presence locally should not be promoted.
The Finlayson's squirrel is native to other countries in Southeast Asia such as Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, & Vietnam, the DENR added.
