Long branches and pine needles create an irregular shaped frame around the fawn's head and shoulders. A second glowing dreamy "frame" outside the is first frame is created by shallow depth of field from branches and pine needles closer to the camera.

A small landscape berm cuts horizontally across the bottom fifth of the frame, and is intersected by a 20cm diameter tree trunk drawn vertically from the top the left third of top of the photo down to the berm.

Esta fotografía en blanco y negro muestra la parte exterior en forma de torre del Portal de San Pedro, en la muralla de Peñíscola (Castellón), tomada desde la zona del puerto por la mañana.

La imagen está en formato vertical, con un fuerte protagonismo del contraste entre la piedra iluminada por el sol y las sombras de la vegetación. El encuadre coloca la torre casi en el centro del plano, ligeramente desplazada hacia la derecha, dejando a la izquierda una franja de cielo despejado y luminoso que aporta amplitud y equilibrio visual a la composición.

El elemento central es una torre cilíndrica de mampostería, de piedra tallada en sillares irregulares, que forma parte del sistema defensivo histórico de la villa amurallada de Peñíscola. Se aprecia una pequeña abertura o aspillera en la parte superior del cuerpo cilíndrico, y el remate de la torre muestra un tejadillo apuntado. A la derecha de la torre, la muralla continúa como un lienzo de piedra más bajo que conecta con las edificaciones del casco urbano situadas en la parte alta.

La base de la muralla y la torre está rodeada de una vegetación densa: se distinguen varias palmeras de hoja de abanico (probablemente palmito o palmera washingtonia) que crecen justo al pie de la piedra, junto con matorral y cañaverales bajos que bordean el agua en primer plano. A la izquierda de la imagen, otra palmera de tronco alto se recorta contra el cielo, y detrás se aprecian copas de árboles más frondosos.

En primer plano se extiende una superficie de agua completamente en calma, correspondiente al canal o zona húmeda cercana al puerto, que actúa como un espejo perfecto. La torre, la muralla, las palmeras y parte del cielo se reflejan con gran nitidez, duplicando verticalmente la composición y generando simetría. Se distinguen también algunas plantas acuáticas o juncos emergiendo cerca de la orilla.

En la parte superior de la imagen, por encima de la muralla, se ven fachadas de edificios propios del casco antiguo: construcciones encaladas de estilo mediterráneo, con balcones de forja y persianas, características de la arquitectura tradicional de la villa. A la izquierda, en un plano más alejado, se aprecia un puente y otras edificaciones bajas típicas del entorno portuario de Peñíscola.
