A fibrous round that's a blue-purple color divided into seven sections by seven irregular orange bands. But what exactly is it? A cloth bracelet? No, it's not elastic enough to fit over the typical hand. A Cheerio dressed up for Mardi Gras? No, it measures 3 inches across - much too big for a cereal piece. An angel's halo with a bad infection? NOPE! It is, in fact, nothing more exotic than the cloth base that came with the Tibetan signing bowl I posted a photo of yesterday. The bowl sings loud and clear as it sits atop this ring of woven material that does nothing to dampen the sound. Although more functional than beautiful, and more of a supporting character than a star, it stands as a reminder that every round thing has a certain nobility to it and is worth celebrating. (Unless, of course, it really IS a Cheerio dressed up for Mardi Gras and I'm just too stupid to recognize the fact - in which case I sincerely apologize for misleading everyone.)

🧵 So I got a new toy: a #Pentax 300mm/f4 lens and a 1.4x extender. That's 420mm in 35mm terms; and 600mm with the extender. That's as long a lens as you'd ever want to use handheld, and way longer than anything I've used before.

A front view on a medieval stone wall which fill the four fifth of the picture. It is beige colored with dark dirt and green plants here and there. Above it is a stripe of grayish blue cloudy sky. And on top of the wall is a lone pigeon facing at us with a bad boy stance. It seems to tell us in a provocative tone "Is that me you're looking at?"
